Caramel malt: a godsend for fans of foam

It’s no secret that malt is the main ingredient for the production of foam. The color, taste and aroma of the drink depends on it.

To create bright and unusual styles, brewers, as a rule, use special malt varieties, among which caramel stands out especially. These are whole families of malts that differ significantly from each other both in color and in taste and aroma characteristics.

Caramel malt gives beer a persistent foam, a bright and memorable taste with pleasant honey notes, deep and rich color. Most often, this malt is used in dark styles of beer: Dunkel, Schwarzbier, Bock, Stout and other various dark ales and lagers. To create the original Porter 8/20, we also used a unique caramel malt. Thanks to him, the drink received a rich aroma, which reveals wine and caramel notes with a hint of toffee, raisins and prunes.

Brewing is a subtle art that needs to be approached with a soul. Only then will such bold experiments as the creation of a unique Porter 8/20 be able to conquer the hearts of all foam lovers. See for yourself, friends!
